Dove dog

I have a Golden Retriever and a Lab. They do very well in the Dove field. I'm not partial to Boykin's but they are quite capable as well.

This is a Ford/Chevy/Dodge debate. I've always been partial to Black Labs.

Had a golden that loved to work a dove field. She was Miss Priss when it came to a duck pond, though! Was not crazy about muck and mud!

Labs have a hard time the first couple months of the season. I think Boykins may do better with the hear but Ive never owned one.

The problem dogs are always the high strung ones. Lab, golden, or griffon that is especially chill for the breed.

Lab, Cocker, Boykin in no order. Pick the one you like and roll with it.

I took my boykin dove hunting at 6 months. I shot a bird and she just sat there watched me go pick it up. 2nd bird she went and got and has gotten every one since. No training, all natural instinct. Im a hard guy to please , this boykin never ceases to amaze me. They are a true hunting dog.

I use to hunt black labs, but you can overheat one real quick on an August afternoon hunt. I got a Boykin, and she is a retrieving fool, but I haven't gotten her into a dove field yet.

Plus, it didn't make sense to me to have a 90lb dog bringing back a 4 oz bird
