East Central Alabama arrowheads

Made of quartz, crystal quartz and chert. This is some of what I found while hunting in Alabama in the 80's and deer hunting in Macon Co. for over 15 years. Can remember days when walking a field, could fill up a coffee can with points. Doubt you can do that anymore unless you can hunt some new ground that hasn't been broke in many years.

For comparison, here's a few found in Florida when living there.

Did some collecting in Ark, 70's. They have small Mississippian points too.

In what I call the quartz belt, going across from mid Al to the east coast. Those primitive folks knew how to work quartz. See lots of crude stuff, but some are as fine as any point made of flint or chert but usually smaller.

Ill have to remember to look for pics, but a buddy of mine found a fairly large serrated triangle out on the farm I hunt. I was looking on the road while waiting on the dogs to get treed and of course after he joined me, he walked over it ahead of me lol. Never seen one like it until that one.
