End of a era

It stinks, but if you don't own it, there is always the possibility that the landowner decides that you're done.

The only way to avoid that is to buy your own land.

You boys enjoy your subdivisions if that’s what you like. Makes me sad every time I see woods and habitat for wild life torn down so somebody can make money and some people can live right on top of each other. They aren’t building more woods. Building lots of subdivisions though. Y’all call it progress if you want and talk about money all you want. We just see this and probably lots of other things differently.
Well said. I drove down a rural road a while back by some property I used to coyote hunt on and they were grading a huge entrance of what looked like some of that good old subdivision progress just starting. It turns my stomach to see it but there ain't a thing I can do about it. Some of us just like woods, wildlife, and remote properties better than we like people and "progress".

This ^^^^^

What happens when all the woodlands and forests have been developed for more houses and progress ? There is such a thing as too much progress,,, I personally wish a large portion of each county could be set aside never to be developed,, the county or state could buy it ,,, there comes a point where we need to say " Sorry ! we're full ! go away ! " otherwise we're going to end up like China,, too many people and no room to move around.

counties sometimes put a moratorium on new construction, but they do it for the wrong reasons, usually because water and sewer won't support any more, at some point quality of life should come into play, traffic and congestion has ruined Atlanta, people move away to the suburbs,, only to have the development follow them, and then the lucky ones move further away, but the cycle continues,,, my Dad used to tell me that at some point I-85 and 965 would be nothing but businesses and development all the way from Atlanta to Gainesville, and sure enough, its almost that way now. We're ruining our quality of life by building something on every vacant piece of land we can find,,,,,

Yes sir. If I didn't have a few friends, family, and a small family farm here I think I would move out of Georgia. It's just getting too populated. And turning blue.

Are you sad when they build schools "so somebody can make money"?

Are you sad when the build a hospital "so somebody can make money"?

And turning blue.

You had better being looking outside the USA then.

It won't be but another decade or two and this entire country will be blue.

Folks love to vote their pockets full of other people's money. More people want "free" than want to earn.

The USA will be Venezuela 2.0. After that y'all had better learn to speak Chi-knee. I'm glad I won't be around to see it.

Do you remember the area before Cabela’s on 92 in Acworth? Before that place it was woods everywhere.....now its big business warehouses and factories. The bad that comes from the good. At least we have some Corp property left.

Dang hypocrite, I was trying to keep it to PMs.

I hope you work iron better than you work a keyboard.

Next time you go on a job to work that iron, thank a greedy developer.

There might be another war before that happens. And you might be around to see it since you're still a spring chicken at age 57.

I hope I'm not so touchy and sensitive when I hit that age.

I'm 57 and "OK Boomer" was a joke.

As far as "driven by money" and "greed", being a RE developer is just a job. Nobody called me "driven by money" and "greedy" when I was a firefighter. Funny how I changed careers and take risks as a developer and all of the sudden I'm "driven by money" and "greedy".

If you can't understand that it doesn't bother me.
LOL.....I am a career firefighter and we get called greedy all the time during negotiations. Two years out from retiring
