Wishing you the best of luck finding something as good or better.
Man I sure hate that. Tough to lose a place to hunt but that subdivision part is just awful.
Driving out to where the blind was we seen 5 Turkey in the trail .I talked to the feller that had it leased he said there putting in a subdivision of all things that just turned my gut.
Not everybody is money hungry.I hate to see someone lose their lease but, speaking as a developer, the subdivision part does not bother me a bit. Everyone hates developers until it's their turn to cash in and sell the farm or they want a house in a burbs.
Not everybody is money hungry.
Once that subdivision is built go door to door tell them your story ask permission to hunt those deer will still be there
Not sure if boomer is a funny name you picked for me (that’s fine) or if you think I’m an old man and need to get with the times. I’m forty two. I’m just not driven by money. If you can’t understand that it doesn’t bother me.

Not necessarily money hungrieness. If the demand for subdivision land in the area has increased, so has the property’s value. In other words, the highest and best use has changed. If timber or ag land is worth $3,000 pr ac and subdivision land is worth $5,000, the owner could sell and buy a similar piece in an area with limited development potential and still have $2,000 per acre left over. That certainly helps with future financial security as well as maybe some grand kids college tuitions. Not greedy. Just practical and the way it is.
Maybe this is really just the beginning of the next era for the OP. Good luck, hope you find a good situation going forward.

Makes me sad every time I see woods and habitat for wild life torn down so somebody can make money...
Oh it pretty clearly bothers you a great deal. Don’t tear your rotator cuff patting yourself on the back either Mr risk taker.?. More people think the way you do than the way I do. That’s ok with me. I dont need anyone’s approval or permission to not hold the belief that more subdivisions and less woods are a wonderful thing. I don’t live anywhere near a big town or city and will never live in one of your subdivisions. I personally would find that sort of life about as appealing as a case of hemroids. I don’t live the way you do by my own choosing. It was and is available but I value different things than guys like you.I'm 57 and "OK Boomer" was a joke.
As far as "driven by money" and "greed", being a RE developer is just a job. Nobody called me "driven by money" and "greedy" when I was a firefighter. Funny how I changed careers and take risks as a developer and all of the sudden I'm "driven by money" and "greedy".
If you can't understand that it doesn't bother me.
Are you sad when they build schools "so somebody can make money"?
Are you sad when the build a hospital "so somebody can make money"?
Are you sad when they build a Chick Fil A "so somebody can make money"?
Are you sad when they build a church "so somebody can make money"?
Are you a socialist?
Nimbys suck.
I have lots of posts in the PF if you’re interested.
??Tell elfiii about what a socialist and left winger you think I am. But pm me and tell me what he says.?Not really. If I wanted to be exposed to more ideas like yours I'd tune in MSNBC there Ace.
