Did you or your family ever take advantage of the free ride on homecoming to visit the grave sites? Where do you have kin buried? I know Bone Valley and Proctor both have quite a few.

The free boat ride is far from it. In the original 1945 agreement the government promised a North Shore road so that families could get to the cemeteries and the free boat ride became part of the compromise. They knew if they(govt) could hold out long enough that anyone who cared about the original promise would be dead and gone. It worked. My dad's cousin Billy Laney is the last one I know who was born on Hazel. He was 4 when they were removed.

In 35 years of trout fishing I've never took the water temp but I'd say we were low to mid 60s where we were.
