Have you ever patterned the federal buckshot in the blue boxes? I can’t get that crap to pattern out of any gun.

The Federal Blue Box 3” 00 is what patterns best out of my Beretta A300 Outlander with a Patternmaster choke. I was able to stock up last year to last me a long time.
The Remington 3” 00 is a very close second.

I know it is more uncommon but have any of you tried the 3” #1 Buck that used to be sold in bulk packs at Wally’s? I just saw some Winchester 3” #1 at Bass Pro.

I only ask because that is what I used to use for buckshot hunting and it worked great. I figure the extra pellets may outweigh the disadvantage of smaller and lighter.

I had also used an 8 bore smoothbore muzzleloader with 2oz of #1 buck on a doe at 40 yds. the load had 22 pellets and 12 of them hit.

I prefer #1 buckshot to 00.

In some loadings, you can get nearly 50% more .30 caliber #1 pellets than the .33 caliber 00 pellets.
