First banded duck

Saturday we shot a few wood ducks and I was surprised to see that one of them had a band. We've shot a few banded doves on WMAs and all of them have been banded on the same WMA a month or so before the season. I figured with much of the duck hunting in GA to be for wood ducks that the bird would have been local, but when we got the information back it was tagged over 1,000 miles away near Brownville NY on 9/21/20.
