Flagging Tape

Anyone else get driven crazy by flagging tape? I’m not even sure if half the guys on the paulding hunt are hunters or if they work for the logging company’s survey crew they’re putting out so much ribbon.

So I’d agree with that except some of the guys I’ve spoken to have 6 spots marked…it’s a 4 day hunt and you can only sit in one spot at a time.

I do try to respect when people have spots marked off, but I feel some of it is out of hand.

I’m with you on this one. I’d wager most the guys have OnX or Hundstand on their phone so they’ve got a gps map as well.

Why don’t they make that crap biodegradable? I pull every old piece I walk past, stick it in my pocket, and put it my trashcan in my truck.

I pay no attention to a flag or stand on public hunting land , if I’m there first it’s my spot if you’re there first it’s yours.

Me too, I dont care if its new or old, I pull it all if Im walking by, I dont go out of my way to get it all but if Im walking and its there and close I get it.

If I'm finding flagging tape it ain't going to be a productive spot weather they are hunting it or not. I find that hunters are more predictable than the deer.

Nothing bothers me more than flagging tape. I only use public for turkey hunting and all flagging comes out with me, it’s litter.

With hunting apps available it’s not needed other than to try to claim a spot, first come first person there gets the spot.

I like to tape off a few crappy spots where the parking is good. Makes everyone want to hunt there and keeps em outta my good spots

This is 2024... use GPS waypoints and tracks ... flagging and bright-eyes are old school and put reflecting tape on your stand /climber that you are heading to.

I am a regular public land hunter and I hate the stuff. I pull it down when it is in reach.
