Floating the Paint Rock river in North AL

I’ve floated the paint rock river the last two weekends. A buddy joined me this past weekend and we caught several on the fly. Mostly we caught longeared sunfish and bream. We had the occasional largemouth and spot though. The boogle bug, popper, and a streamer he tied did the trick for us! He finished the day with a nice 2 lb or so largemouth on conventional tackle.

That’s a cool kayak. Haven’t seen a lot of them where you can stand and cast.

I am thrilled with my Nucanoe flint. I can comfortably stand and fish with a rig that’s around 85 lbs. My buddy has the frontier model, 12 foot long and a little wider. He’s able to add another seat or outboard motor to his rig but it’s a heavier boat.

Cool man. I’ll check it out.
