Great job on a nice swamp buck! Congrats!
No, not typically. I have a unique situation, as my plot of land is surrounded by 3-4 thousand acres of timberland. That land is leased, and to my knowledge is still managed for bigger bucks. Little we can do to control what goes on, over the line, we we do our part to help. I try very hard to stay 8 or better, don’t worry so much about age, it can be tough getting a shot at times in there. The last 4-5 bucks taken on our place have been 150- 180. This buck was rutted down, hardly an ounce of fat on him.Is that a typical weight in the swamp? Here in the mountains one might get that heavy but not very often.
8 point this morning. Probably my best in this swamp in 30 years of hunting it. 170 lbs, 4” bases.
I live in Bradfordville…
You ever hunt Ochlocknee River or Talquin WMA’s?
I always hunt Joe Budd or drive over to Apalachee WMA to hunt. Just need to take time to scout the other WMAs closer to me.
Nice buck!
Congratulations to your daughter. Great buck.Daughter connected on a six point that’s given her the slip a couple times this morning.
