Fort McAllister

I’m camping at fort McAllister this weekend and bringing my flats boat. How is the fishing near the fort?

Whiting ,sharks, some sheephead, dock is a mother to launch and retrieve boat

The back dock at red bird creek is ok,,, look for trout and reds and head toward the sounds

Look for mouths of sloughs on the outgoing tide and live shells. Go out at low tide to look for shells and fish them as the tides cover them. I have fished the area many times. Used to do well in the Florida Passage-the creek the runs behind Ossabaw Island. It is usually clear. Good luck. (sorry I just noticed that you have already made the trip)
