Florida Simpson point, middle paleo, comes in right after Clovis. Found several in the same site. This point was reduced in size by use and resharpening. First stage, it would have had a large wide blade.

Found in a burned off field in SW Ga, the heat gave it some reddish color. The field had been bottom plowed before it grew up in weeds. Next to a large sink hole.

This form is found associated with Simpson points. I named this type back many years ago. Cowhouse Slough blades.

In this point, there can be seen a transition, Clovis to early Simpson. Fluting persist with the early Simpson forms. All have ground basal edges, some are single fluted on each face, some are double fluted on one or both sides of the blade.
