Covered my plants best I could last night and it didn't get near as cold as they said. Tonight they say 37. Cover or not?

That’s the real question, covering plants is a pain, losing everything you’ve done is a big pain. I’m a little south of you and a very few degrees warmer, usually. I was sweating out my tomatoes last night,I’m leaning toward relaxing a bit tonight. We’ll see later on in the afternoon.

You are right it is a pain to cover them, especially since I put my baskets around them last weekend.

They are looking so good would hate to lose them now.

I won't get home til around 3:30 today. They are covered with black plastic. Do I need to uncover them for awhile and recover them around dark?

Supposed to be about 25 here tonight. I never plant maters until about the second-third week of May.

I covered mine on the last frost we had with plastic. They still got damage where the plastic touched the plants but not bad enough to kill the. Next time I will use buckets and cloth instead of plastic one thing I have noticed is it seemed to help the pepper getting a little frost bit. They all bunched out at the tops without having to pinch them and should up production some

Slugs have been eating all my plants, had to put some beer traps out. Seems to be working great. I’ve caught over 200 in two nights. Now to replant the cucumbers.

Here’s a picture of my little house plot garden. Growing some obsession sweet corn, momentum bush beans, watermelons, cantaloupe, pumpkin, butternut squash, and some flowers. Have some lettuce and beets in the side closest in the picture and also have a cover crop covering one row that has buckwheat, ic peas, millet, sorghum, and some other stuff

I put some fertilizer on my corn and okra Sunday ahead of the rain. Shouldn't be long now and I will hit it with some 34-0-0

Whatcha got going with that wire mesh over the bed? That's something I've never seen. Interested to hear about it

Some of it is netting to keep the chickens and cats out of the bed. We now have tule over the beds. Trying to be mostly organic with our veggies. Hoping to control stink bugs, cutworms and hornworms with it. Once everything starts blooming we'll have to remove it during the day for pollination. May be more trouble than it’s worth, but we’ll see.

I'm way behind. Got the rows laid out yesterday after work. Will be going to get everything in the ground after I get off work today.
