Hey my internet explorer keeps redirecting me whenever I click on links in google or yahoo, but if I type it in directly it's fine. Can anyone look at my log to see what is causing my redirects?

you have both IE and firefox on the system have you tried Firefox to see if it does it?

Try Malwarebytes.org. It takes care of just about everything. Make sure you get the Free version.

Try going to spywarehammer.com and posting your log. They have people on there that remove spyware for a living that can help you.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary that just pops out as a spyware/malware on that log.

Do this, do a Google search and the link you normally click on right click on it. Then select "Copy Shortcut" then paste it into a reply here.

Maybe something in the redirection URL to better tell you what it could be...

My neighbors computer had the exact same problem....

Clear your browser history entirely, and check to see what your home page is in the internet options as some of the redirect bugs will change it, some won't. If it's what hers was, it's cookie related from a malicious website cookie sitting in your browser history and in her case the homepage had been changed as well. Very simple fix on her machine but your problem may be more involved. I cleared her history, reset her homepage, closed and the re-opened the browser and it was all good from then on. It almost seemed too easy.

Well I cleared the browser history, ran malware bytes, ran spybot s & d, Adaware, MS Security Essentials, and it still is redirecting. Firefox was allowing links to work, but now it seems to be attempting to do the same thing as IE. Well I'm going to try to hit up some of those other forums to see what's going on.

So I'm hoping I have this licked.

I ran a host of spware/malware software.

Ran Spybot Search and Destroy
- Windows Defender
- Microsoft Security Essentials
- Avast
- Malwarebytes
- Tdsskiller
- cwshredder

And although they found some spyware, they didn't take care of the problem. But they did pinpoint that my explorer.exe and winlogon.exe had errors in it. But the only way that I could figure fixing those was reverting from my XP sp3 backwards so I uninstalled my sp3 and so far so good. ... fingers are crossed.

So far so good. Reinstalled sp3 and it seems to be running fine. Of all the ones I've tried, I give high respect to the Avast software. It's free for 30 days, but it is a pretty thorough search. I have tried spybot, and ran all of them in safe mode.

So I'm hoping this is the end of it.

I had the same problems with IE8, I stopped using it and went with Google Chrome...LOVE IT
