Hog Trapping

Heard some talk in old threads about the state (or some agency) trapping on Elmodel and Chickasawhatchee WMA’s and the surrounding farmland areas to help manage the pig population. Anyone know if that effort is still going on, or what sort of impacts it had?

helicopters and shotguns. One of the plantations owners told me they got 300+ one week and close to 400 another week. They need to get busy and knock a dent in it

Here's an overview of the project, I heard they've removed around 900 pigs so far mostly from private land. DNR handles the bulk of the hog control on Chickasawhatchee, but I'm not sure if their numbers are factored into that total.
