It was a big mind changing demand for the folk that had just voted to crucify Jesus to now accept that he was Lord and Christ!!!!!!!!!!! That is lots of repentance on one's plate to digest...
And more despite the above, Peter thinks they can have the Holy Spirit just as good as any...! Wow! And I must admit... they needed that Comforter if anyone did. Blind they might now see and so healed of their spiritual infirmities.
