I have ruled out that these are not armillaria mellea.
They do not have a veil on the stem.
They do not have scales on the cap.
They are growing out in the open.
But I did find a white spore print and some at the base of an oak tree.
I read that even if they were honeys they are not very appetizing.
I am just trying to understand what I have in my area.
