How did you start out bowhunting?

I don't remember ever having a real climactic start. I wanted to extend my deer season so I picked up a used bow/arrow setup, a Bowtech Defender VFT. Killed my first deer with it in Washington Co as a freshman in college. I've killed a number of them since then, was even bow only for a bit, but find myself rifle hunting more often now in my current style of hunting with kids. I still keep some bow only spots and like to bowhunt when by myself.

I started in the early 90’s I had a student checking account that I had been saving tin can and birthday money etc in and bought a bear bow from Walmart it had the old metal sight pins with the colored tips on them, lived on a farm and shot hay bails, went through a bunch of the old super slam arrows.. the good ol days
