They made them like that in the 1960s. We had one when I was a boy. Could be they made them earlier??

Probably late 50s early to mid 60s. They were a fixture at packing sheds, barns and pickup truck beds when I was growing up working loading mellons, stacking hay barns, cropping tobacco.

Can't remember exactly when plastic ones replaced the galv. metal coolers.

We had one for years as a porch decoration. I don't know what became of it. We still have this old lantern. I don't know how old it is.

We had one like that for youth football in the 60's. Not sure if it is a "Covey". My mom still has it.

Not sure how to date them.
