Hump Day Specks

I left the house around 6:00 this morning and headed up to a creek that I've probably fished more than any other in my 40 years. I flipped my 3 wheeler here when I was 7 years old and broke my arm, I was snowed in for 10 days here during the blizzard of 93' with 36 inches, and I took 5 of my best buds here for my bachelor party 10 years ago. To say that this watershed and I have a history is an understatement. If I had to pick one watershed to fish the rest of my life this would be it. I parked my truck at around 8:00 and the temp was a very pleasant 60 degrees.

The ol' fisherman's trail was full of cobwebs, just what I like to see

I walked about a mile upstream above the falls.

The next 4 hours I caught Mountain Trout out of every likely hole. One hole in particular, I caught 5. I hate to guess how many I caught, but it had to be over 50. I caught 3 or 4 over 9", and plenty 7-8". I haven't eaten a mess of Mountain Trout in a while, and in hindsight wish I'd kept a 4 fish limit.

As much as I want to be there alas I can’t as my youngest son is getting married this Saturday. Monday will be a different day though.

Thank you so much for sharing. As someone who is having trouble getting back into those type places or to even wade a creek anymore, it is a joy to go along with you and others here thu your posts.
