I appreciate all the kind words! Going to do the best I can with it and hope and pray that it eventually goes away. If nothing else I guess its an excuse to catch more fish!
Start right now looking into getting acupuncture treatment.

Sorry to hear this! My GSP’s bring ticks in daily, predominantly lone stars. I have been lucky but feel it’s just a matter of time.

Hopefully pork is still a viable option for you! With your culinary skills I am sure you will continue to eat well!

Several friends have had AGS and recovered in time. Good luck!

Man, that sucks. Horribly. Some people are scared of snakes. Some people are afraid of bears. Alpha Gal virus is the only thing in the outdoors that truly terrifies me.

Robie,

I am so sorry to hear this for you. Glad to hear you got treatment and know what you are dealing with. Best wishes for some sort of resolution where you can resume meat at some point in the future. Take care and best wishes.

Yeah...... some day soon, probably in the next week or so, that craving is going to be strong.... My wife made a trip to Kenny's Fish Market on my behalf so I've got shrimp, scallops, grouper etc to play around with for a few days at least. Of course, the trick is watching what else gets added to it. I'm not sure about my reaction to such things as cream, butter, cheese just yet. And not really looking for a trial and error type approach after the other night either.

I despised ticks before this happened! They are just a nasty, vile, mean little critter. Maybe it is just my imagination, but there seems to be more of them than I remember years ago. I probably spend a little less time now in the woods, thick vegetation, outside in general as I did in my younger days, but the number of ticks I seem to encounter has increased significantly.

Yep. I've been seeing a lot this year. Luckily, I've never seen a lone star here, or on my place in SC. Middle TN is full of them.

Apparently the Lone Stars have now been found as far north as Maine, I've been reading a lot about them the last couple days....... At our place on Lookout Mt near Mentone AL, it seems like you can't walk from the door to the garage without getting a tick on you. Deer roam through there in herds which contributes to that I guess. The one that presumably caused this was the first Lone Star I've ever had to get on me that I'm aware of. We had been up there until a day or so before I found it so assume I got it up there. That was about 10-14 days ago now I think.

Adding to the prayers for your body returning to normal ASAP.

Crazy stuff.

I probably wouldn’t miss steak….until a doc told me I couldn’t have it.

They have gotten extremely worse it seems . As a kid I hardly remember getting many . I sprayed around my yard this morning and 5 minutes ago was standing in the kitchen and my wife said you have a tick on your back . I absolutely hate them
