An old friend of mine used to simmer squirrel in bbq sauce on the stove til it started to get tender and then finish it on a real smoky grill. As much as I like it fried that was the best I'd ever had.I've eaten squirrel all my life, but never tried any grilled. May try that this evening instead of freezing these fresh ones
With the ducks around here and Arkansas sucking and my lab dying, this has really been a good "post deer pre turkey" activity.Man that looks amazing! The fried squirrel, rice and gravy pics made my mouth water thinking bout the meals my grandmother made us. My brother and I were absolute heck on the squirrels growing up and that woman got such a kick out of our success. Miss those times. Looking forward to getting my little man into squirrel hunting. Let too much time pass without enjoying that…well done pal.
