Indian Pass snapper

We went out of IP yesterday morning to try to catch some snapper. 6 of us on the boat caught our limit in about 1-1/2 hours. Started off catching undersize snapper as soon as the anchor hit bottom. The fish got bigger as time went by.

We got a bonus mahi and mangrove snapper and had an 8' tiger shark putting on a show eating the undersize fish we there back.

Looks exactly like one of our takes out of IP week ago Friday cept we had a few more mangroves and lanes. Had a tiger swimming around then as well...estimate at 9-11’. And several bull sharks. You weren’t fishing that live bottom about 16 miles out we’re you? Caught our only mahi on a feelined cigar minnow that day.

We were 18 miles out fishing live bottom. Our mahi was caught on a flat line cigar minnow too.

My dad took a group to the same place last weekend and they got some big fish including a 36" snapper.

It does sound like it. I've got another trip for the 11th, the 13th or 14th, and the 25th. All of those dates depend on weather and water conditions. Hopefully, we'll be able to get on some more of the big ones again.
