Insulating/venting ceiling. Experts or experiences?

That’s for the advice guys. @GeorgiaGlockMan that looks awesome. The airgap between roof and insulation is what I was thinking best but I read some contradictory articles online so I wasn’t sure. I’ll still definitely look into spray foam but will probably do similar to your job. It’s going to be all electric atleast to start out and see how it does.

That’s a good question. A friend has been in the insulation business most of his life and has done several jobs for me. He has always told me, never install fiberglass against wood in an unconditioned enclosed space. He says it’s a moisture issue waiting to happen. I would baffle and ridge vent.

I would plywood over the 2x6 rafters then screw the metal straight to the plywood. Spray the entire roof inside with foam. Then finish ceiling. It won't take but a year maybe 2 to save that extr money in heating and cooling bill.
