The City of West Point currently has the following position open:

Firefighter/Paramedic (Certified and Non-Certified)

Job Description:
This position is responsible for responding to fire/medical emergency calls for protection of life and property, control and extinguishes fires, perform search and rescue, and provide advanced life support to sick/injured persons. Provide advanced emergency medical care to sick or injured persons that may include providing advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, basic trauma life support, pediatric care, obstetrical care, advanced airway management or drug treatments.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. No felony convictions within the past 10 (ten) years and have good moral character. Candidates may be subject to working various shifts determined by departmental needs.

Not to high jack, FF = great job, good benefits and time off. Pay is usually decent, raises are not like they used to be but still ok.
Most departments are looking, Get your foot in the door, then look around and compare benefits.
THEN STAY SOMEWHERE AND BUILD SENIORITY AND RANK. Usually good retirements.
