I wonder if they'll let his ashes float down the Green River?
When I die let my ashes float down the Green River
Let my soul roll on up to the Rochester dam
I'll be halfway to Heaven with Paradise waitin'
Just five miles away from wherever I am
I could listen to him all day. His song in spite of ourselves was the wife and me's song. We would ride down the road and sing it. Probably only song we ever truly sang together as an actual duo.
My wife gave me his song book “Beyond Words” for Christmas last year. Along with songs, it has stories he tells about the songs, old photos, and copies of his hand written lyrics
Hope he’s enjoying that vodka and ginger ale and nine mile long cigarette
