We went to Colorado Springs for my daughter’s wedding. While we were there, we went to the summit of Pike’s Peak. (14,155’ above sea level.) Seeing my daughter get married- more beautiful than the Aspens.

Beautiful pics.

And yeah, we left Baltimore once@0700, landed Denver and were at the top of pikes by 2pm local. My then GF, now wife, was white as a sheet, clamy, sick by 2:01pm.

The transition to that altitude is rough when you’re not ready for it.

Up and down on the cog train.

Ive been to The Springs a number of times. The cog train up Pikes Peak is a great ride.
Garden of the Gods is a good stop-off. Used to cruise Academy Blvd years ago. Lots of action on the blvd back then.

Enjoyed the pix. Brings back memories

I took my kids to the top of Pike's Peak one August in the 1980's. Got a snow (slush/ice mix really) in my back for the effort. Fun drive (especially going down).

Did you get to wander the mountains? Beautiful place.

And congrats on gaining a SIL. May God grant them both joy in their life together.

More pics. Beauty cannot be hijacked, just intensified.

The drive from the Springs to Salida on Hwy 50 is probably the best drive in the state. Be on the look out for Bighorns along the way.

We're taking the long way from the Springs to Salida.
