Lanier Report 11/14

Fished the south side of the lake Saturday morning. Water temp was in the mid to upper 60’s and sunny with 7-9mph E winds. Water clarity was clear to slightly stained in creeks.

Found fish holding in the lower water column, specifically in deeper pockets of feeder creeks in 20-35 feet. Caught a nice 4.5lb 21” largemouth which was a nice surprise on the south side and a few 2-3lbs 17-18” spots. Fish were keying in on heavy structure jig with a twin tail pig. Didn’t seem like they wanted much to do with moving baits and top water activity was very isolated and sparse.

I would expect the top water bite to pick up as we progress through the week though due to the cold front.
