An article from North Dakota Game & Fish

This article is fairly misleading. I have gotten reports from guys who live in ND & they tell a little different story. The small pot holes (less than 3 acres) are dry. This wetland survey doesn't include large water. The ducks are sitting on big water & larger rivers. The numbers of birds hatched are relatively the same, they're just concentrated on larger bodies of water rather than pot holes. The southern part of the state has not been hit by drought like the northern part & lower Canada. The crop damage is different story. The fields are in bad shape from drought. The lack of food source will plague hunters far more than water this season. The guys also went on to say, the ND game & fish is pushing to limit 22-23 season dates based on hatch rate in 2021 & exclude non-resident hunters in 22-23. Lets hope the NDGF is just blowing smoke.
