You're smarter than me. I did marry a redhead, and a headstrong one at that.
Married a blond. Her Dad's people are Irish. Her maternal grandmother was upstate New York Eyetalian and possibly some Mohican. Sweet as she can be but don't cross her. Highly protective of family too. Always packing and at least 1 knife. Usually another knife within reach. Kinda scary if I think on it too much. :bounce:

I had to go to Savannah one Friday for work and my brother decided to ride with me. Way down I-16 I noticed I was getting low on fuel. About that same time, I met a GSP headed N, looked and I was running about 90mph. I stayed on the interstate for 5-6 miles and he never showed up behind me. Wheeew, I got lucky, I thought. We got off the next exit, fuel up, grabbed something to eat and head south again. As soon as I got on the interstate, I notice another GSP headed N bound with his lights on. He warped across the median, fell in behind me and pulled me over.

He came to my window with his hand on his gun, and he was shaking he was so upset. It was the same GSP as I had met before, and he thought I was trying to evade him. He had been looking for me the entire time. He was actually screaming at me and threaten to put my brother in cuffs if he didn't shut up. I calmly told him: Sir, I saw you the first time and I stayed on the interstate for 5-6 miles, and you never showed up. I know I was speeding, I was running 90 mph. I assumed you were not turning around. As you can see by this receipt, I just put 23 gallons of gas in my truck (provided my receipt). I was not trying to evade you, at all.

He got my license and insurance and went back to his car. He came back to my window with an entirely different attitude. He was actually smiling and apologized to us both while handing me a warning ticket.

On a side note, there were so many law cars on I-16, I decided to take the 2 lane roads home that evening and received a speeding ticket in a one horse town just above Savannah:banginghe

Small town Barney's with a vendetta are the worse.
My sister (4 years older) drove for a year before turning 16 and getting her license. Local occifer tried his best to catch her and never did. The day she turned 16 and got her license, he pulled her over and she made a donkey out of him.
Fast forward 8 years and I'm 18 (legal drinking age at the time) riding with a friend who is 17 and Barney is now Police Chief.
Friend rolls thru a stop sign and a young cop pulls us over. Friend has a milkshake, I have a beer in the console. He asks who's beer it is and I claim it.
He calls in and the chief wants to know who it is in the car. When he gives him my name the situation changes fast.
I'm pulled out of the car, handcuffed and taken to the station for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Long story short. I was let go with an apology and my friend never got a ticket for the California stop.

They will carry a grudge.

I was pulled over by a Alabama Trooper on Sunday. He took my ID… i said what i do wrong? Changed lane on I85 without using my blinker.

I looked at him sideways, nobody was near me. He said i saw it. Gave me a warning.

A little off topic from the original post, but we're five pages deep so far, so here is more.

Did a lot of stuff I shouldn't as a teenager luckily with no negative results. First one I remember was I had a flat tire in a parking lot when under the legal age and had probably consumed a few. Not tore up by any means, but would lead to problems in today's world. I don't think I had the old truck long and had a spare but no jack. Priorities - Weekend night came ahead of getting a bottle jack. LEO pulled up and yanked out a jack and changed it not wanting any help and acted like he enjoyed it. Some might say I was lucky, but I say that one LEO made an impression on me to offer any aid needed to one of them the rest of my life.

I never got caught for anything I should have. Most of the folks I was around back then went to jail at least once. Not bad folks and came out OK, but not smart enough to know their limitations.

Weird - because AFAIK using your blinker in Georgia is "suspicious activity". :sneaky:
Also, if you are hauling anything around and things AREN'T falling out of your vehicle and onto the roadway, that is also suspicious activity. :sneaky:
