Looking for a Cow to buy and process

I’ve been raising steers/selling halves and wholes for several years now. I use 3-4 different butchers. Only advice I will add to NE Pappy is that age is a huge factor in the beef quality. You cannot get a prime or choice cut meat with an older cow.

The trick is to get the steer to 1000lbs before they hit 18 months. The other truck is the breed. Angus, Braunvieh, and maybe Hereford. Angus is my pick.

Look on Facebook Marketplace...Several natural Grass fed ranchers that sell cows....

I am actually looking at a place now that dry ages meat for 2 weeks....Approx 4.00 per pound after processing for a whole cow.....500-600lbs hanging weight before butchering....
