Looking for opinions on LED strip lighting for my boat.

I've put some ones I got off Amazon on a pontoon boat I had a few years back and the hot Georgia sun cooked them and melted the protective coating in one summer. I've seen some Southern Lite LEDs on others boats. They looked amazing and were bright but $$$. Anyone have a suggestion for something not $4-500 but will last? It's a 20 ft Jon boat and I want to mount them under the outside gunnel so they throw the light into the water.

Following… the cheap ones will dry rot and crack then leave a tough residue behind

They probably aren’t a lot cheaper here, but I can tell you the fishing lights are high quality. You should be able to scroll down the page and see the strip lights for boats.

I’ve got two of these and the wife and I love them! But I too am looking for something bright to shine down to the water……mounted on the side of the boat. I see as many baitfish with the spotlight at slow speeds.

What ICU said. I tried that on a pontoon boat last year. They melted during the summer and the adhesive backing was a nightmare to get off.

Good luck w your lights!

I put individual LED lights in my boat - didn't consider a strip or light rope - just use em for night fishing when don't want to ruin night vision.
