Marlin 1893

I could use some help dating a marlin 1893 that's been sitting in my gun cabinet for 40 years.
it has a "Special smokeless steel barrel" with arrows on each side of the stamp. The top of the tang is marked marlin model 93 and the serial # is C17xx any help would be appreciated.
