missing fisherman

A friends uncle went fishing on Friday and has not been found. His vehicle was located yesterday (Sunday) near Cherry Hill recreation area. Based on the location of the vehicle, I assume he was heading toward Big Bend on the Chattooga or a feeder creek. Oconee County rescue team was dispatched at 1400 yesterday. They were to resume rescue efforts this morning. Hoping that they find him unharmed...I know all of us that hunt/fish realize the dangers, but letting someone know where you're going could save precious time if you are in a situation such as this. If you are in the area, the guy's name is Jeff Griffith (age 50's, 5'10", 175lbs)...UPDATE 1:59PM: SEARCH CREWS FOUND HIM AND ARE TREATING INJURIES...

UPDATE: search crews found him and are treating injuries...extremely fortunate this didn't turn out worse.

Good to hear he's still with us, sorry for injuries. I hope the extent is minor and recovery speedy.

As said so many of these reports have poor outcomes. Reminder to all and particular note to self to bone up on our individual safety plans.
