I wear carhartt pants to work so I've kilt a bunch of animals in them. I got the blackovis merino wool shirts in olive crab. I've found this combo to work great. When it gets cold nuff I'll break out my Asbell wool pullover in the woodland magic plaid?. And I like the old military pattern.

I REALLY like old military woodland camo.
I liken fancy camo and the 100's of 'new' camo patterns coming out to tying flies. Most anglers tie flies that look pretty to other anglers, the fish don't care. I have sort of taken this idea to hunting, we don't really know how the animals we chase see so that fancy camo is more likely to impress other hunters than the animals.
The only thing I can say about gear like Sitka, First lite, etc, is the moisture wicking technology is pretty legit. Not sure it's worth those prices.

I also like the BlackOvis stuff and any merino I can get on discount

I don’t care about the pattern, as long as it’s expensive so I can flex on the poor peasants in the woods. Wait... I actually hope I don’t see anybody...

I have a lot of Firstlite gear, all my orange is Natural Gear blaze camo. I feel like it’s kinda pointless covering 1/3 of your camo with a bright solid, so I go for blaze orange with a black pattern on it. Not sure how effective camo actually is on deer, being still and avoiding blue or anything that reflects UV is the main thing. My camo double duties in turkey season, so I try to get stuff that works sitting against a tree in the spring too. Yea, my stuff is expensive, but I make good money so it isn’t an issue. Plus the more I spend on hunting stuff the less my wife can spend on tacky house decor. She wants a pool too, so I’m hoping I can spend enough on overpriced **** that we can never afford to dig a money pit in the ground that we have to maintain forever.

In weather above 50 degrees, I usually wear a drab brown or drab green pair of cargo pants and a camouflage long sleeved T shirt. Between 40-50 I add a camouflage long sleeved fleece. As it gets cooler, I just add a camouflage vest and layers underneath the fleece. If it's really cold, I break out the wool and military grade fleece and insulated overalls. I really don't have a camouflage pattern preference except I buy what's cheap at the time. I don't see the point in worrying too much about camo pattern's since most of my hunting is done in blinds anyway. I could be wearing orange head to toe and the deer wouldn't know.

Man that;s some solid reasoning right there - Spend more on hunting so wife doesn't spend on house decor...

I’m gonna start offering life coaching services for anyone interested. It won’t be cheap, but you’ll get what you pay for...well, almost. All GON memebers get .05% discount. Any takers?

My warm weather gear doubles for turkeys. First lite fusion is the latest for me. Stuff is well thought out.
Sitka for the cold, I have their ground forest and their elevated II.
It's all mix and match really.

Carhartt or Multicam for me. But, I couldn’t mix and match the two. I’d be in a tither before I got out the front door with the OCD.
