I learnt a long time ago...the smaller the boat the bigger the fun. Easy to pull, drive load and unload. And get into places them $50k bass boats are skeered to. Thats a nice one !
It’s an Arkansas Traveler, supposedly legendary. I took it up to Lake Seed yesterday and started the little engine for the first time after checking the plugs, cleaning out the carburetor, which appears new, and adjusting the throttle cables. Started on third pull, and scooted around the lake just fine…I got the boat, nice trailer with new tires and lights, the 1983 7.5 Mercury Thunderbolt, a very nice 55 pound trolling motor all for $950. Now I need to learn how to fish Lake Seed, and Lake Burton!
Cool little boat-No one needs much more than that, especially not in those mountain lakes…
My dad acquired an old Orlando Clipper that’s a similar design. Think it’s a 1953 model. We’ve tore up some crappie a few times with it already!
