My Youngest Son’s Buck

My youngest son Luke and I had been hunting this buck for several weeks. A little over two weeks prior to him killing the buck he didn’t make a good shot on him. We tracked him but found very little blood. He was tore about it. A couple of days later he showed up on camera again. He ended up grazing him low right behind his front leg. We continued hunting him and the next weekend we saw the buck again. He just couldn’t get calmed down enough to make the shot. He had buck fever bad. After Thanksgiving the wind was going to be right and the temperatures were nice and cold and we had 3 days to hunt this buck again. He was finally able to get it together enough to make the shot on him. He’s killed 1 other buck and 4 does but this buck had him tore up. We hunted this buck for over 40 hours. I’m proud of him and will cherish the experience for the rest of my life. IMG_2332.jpegIMG_2297.jpeg

Good story and a great buck for the little guy.

I can relate to getting rattled. It happened to me for the first time just this season. I used to not think it was real but it is.
