Just had 3 doe come from southeast. One walked straight through my wind. The other two caught it then ran right under me. They’re moving, just need some heavy bone to come through

Young 6-8 point cruising edge of bean field about 150 out. Looked to be checking scrapes. Tough to see through woods

30ish minutes ago patty catches movement and sees a buck making a scrape. I look over and see a doe but get the camera on her. Then I see the buck, they’re working there way towards us and I’m getting great footage. As they get about 60 yds out I’m trying to swing my camera arm a little bit and my stand slips on the tree and I fall out of the stand completely. There’s a reason we wear harnesses and that’s the exact reason folks! I would have fallen 20+ feet and likely seriously injured. Thank you Patrick for saying a prayer for me this morning as I was climbing to set the stand. Needless to say my little rodeo scared the two deer off.

Glad you weren't hurt but did you fellas go all the way to Kansas to hunt out of Baker stands? :bounce: You're probably not old enough to get that one but suffice it to say they were notorious for slipping. Sometimes all the way down the tree. Good luck gentlemen.

I didn’t ever hunt out of one but we had one. Tried putting it up one time and it’s still sitting in that tree. This was just user error trying to get the deer on camera

It’s windy and this stands needs some wd40. Chilly but not a lot of action. Clear skies and can see forever but can’t hear anything with this wind howling.

This finger of woods between 2 half cut bean fields and CRP field is totally dead. Where the deer at?
