I have a new setup for 2019, thanks to a fellow forum member. It’s a Hoyt Dorado, 55# @ 28”. I’m shooting Easton FMJ Autumn Orange arrows. I haven’t picked a broadhead out yet, I’m trying to choose between a few different heads.
It’s been a couple of years since I hunted with traditional gear, It’ll be nice to get back in the saddle. I’m pumped!

I just pulled the trigger on a longbow too.
I found a killer deal on a Martin Savannah Stealth. It'll be here in a few days.

I got the Savannah longbow in the mail other day and did fairly well on my first few groups of arrows. I’m really liking the way it feels and shoots.
A new, 8125 string made by 60X for the Dorado arrived the other day. It is now installed, all tuned up and ready to roll. Ive shot it a lot in the last several days and all seems well. I can’t wait til August when small game opens. I’m going to try to break them both in on a WMA pig or some tree rats! I have several wallows and some travel corridors already picked out as my setups.

I’ve been bitten by the bug. I bought a decent sized lot of 2018 aluminum arrows and have been flinging them boogers at the Block for a few days now.
They fly really good with the Tree Sharks on them too.

Trad bows are like tater chips; you can't have just one!
Very true! I just snagged a Darton recurve from a local shop up here in Michigan.
They had an indoor range and some misc arrows lying around, so they let me shoot it a few times to see if I liked it.
I picked an arrow that I figured would be close to a good match and let it fly.
I hit the 10 ring with the first shot and was dead on with the second. It came home with me after that.

While removing the old rug rest and calf hair plate on my new to me Darton bow, I noticed the number 52 written on the bow, just above the shelf. It’s beneath the finish and I have no clue what it means exactly. My best guess is the draw weight @ 28”.
I’ve sent an inquiry to Darton, requesting any info that they might have regarding the year/exact specs.
I got it all cleaned up, installed the new rest & plate, and then put some fur string silencers on it.E9A600C6-EEF2-4261-A062-6A1991DD1C9C.jpeg923AF7F2-F03D-4E7B-A57A-89F0A14BACD9.jpeg
