Yep, if you carry a weapon to protect yourself from any type of wild animal in ga, you prob need to stick to walking in a neighborhood.
Get around a sow with piglets in the wrong spot one time and it will make a true believer outta ya as far as carrying a pistol. Plus feral dogs aint so nice either. A smaller chance(slim to none really) a bear on the wrong day could give ya problems as well. Lets not leave snakes outta the party. In the big woods i let em be, but around the house they gotta go.

Naw, wild animals wont bother ya. Slipping in to a deer stand one morning. This dude came from behind me out of a thicket. Must have awakened him. Dropped him at ten yards. 340 pounds. I'm too old to run, and don't climb well anymore either.
twice over the years, was attacked by packs of wild dogs. Once in Citrus Co. Fl, and once in Early Co. Ga. Has anyone ever tried to climb planted pines that are six feet high? At least have a good stick with ya.
Walking in some neighborhoods might not be safe either.

I believe your in a lot more danger of walking up on a shake-N-bake meth lab or illegals planting/ growing Marijuana in the woods than you are of being attacked by a hog. Around here’s anyway. If you do have to shoot one off you, call the ranger first and see what he says. Cutting him up and packing him out and putting him on ice first looks an awful like hunting. It could go either way.

A friend of mine had this happen to him, sort of. He was walking a trail around his subdivision and a pig came out on the trail and charged him. He happened to have his Glock and shot it dead. He called the police to let them know in case someone in the subdivision was alarmed or game people needed to be contacted. He's not really a hunter so he didn't really know what to do. The police just asked if anyone was hurt and after he said no, they basically said they weren't concerned. So he just dragged it off the trail and walked home
