Shot this buck yesterday 10/25. Watched him bedded for 2 hours with no shot. Really had no clue how big he was. He finally stood up at 11:22 AM and I made the shot at about 80 yards. He ran 20 yards and the rest is history! 18 inch inside spread. This deer was not on the cameras, a simple reminder to go hunt regardless of whats on your cameras! Thankful the good Lord gave me the opportunity to cross paths with this beautiful deer.

Nice Ruger MARK 2. Coming from a straight
RUGERHOLIC.

Big ole' buck too.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Thank you sir. Both of the rifles I regularly hunt with are Mark 2’s. They are very accurate rifles. My dad gave me this gun when I was 8, killed my first deer with it and have killed alot of deer with it since. I also have a ruger paddle stock 7 mag thats an absolute tack driver. They dont make em like they used to!

I have a 7 Rem Mag with the hollow polymer stock and molded in camo. It's the only one I've ever seen. Haven't even seen it in any other caliber either. It's very accurate for a field grade rifle.

The "boat paddles" you either love or hate but as far as utility, they are almost bomb proof. Stainless steel and glass filled Nylon is probably THE MOST DURABLE combination. (might be acetal, brand name Delrin) Basically all the same properties.

I seen a nice dark Walnut stock on a rifle at the local gun store so I called Ruger with the serial number and they had one. I think it was $280ish.
Less than 300$ for sure. 3 screws away from a beautiful rifle.

Great buck! Congrats! I miss my old ruger Boat Paddle 300 Win Mag, sold it last year, wished I hadn't now. That rifle was an absolute tack driver stock, but the trigger weight was just awful, got the trigger worked on and accuracy just got better. I sold it and got ridiculous money for it compared to what I bought it for, but rifles just aren't built like that anymore.

Great buck and good advice. I am next to you in Greene Co and most of the bucks I have taken I had never had pix. The bucks I watch all summer go somewhere else. Probably Oconee County

Agreed. Not all deer walk in front of that camera and new deer come through all the time. Great buck. Congrats.
