Out of curiosity, why do you want some Japanese quail? Egg production? Have you searched online? May be get quicker results than on a hunting forum.

I shoot and throw the bird in cover and make him sit a minute then send him to find the wounded bird!! I used one Pharaoh quail 28 times before he had a heart attack with Drake when he was a puppy And no up keep involved, just put them in a small pen , eat their eggs and have a fried quail ever so often.
