Hey i watch this forum often and have noticed that all the deer that are posted are way ahead of mine. Our deer are like 30 days behind everyone else. Meaning in fawns ,antler growth , velvet shed, etc. What is the reason? Im guessing the region im in? I am just west of DAWSON.

I hunt in Webster County just north of Dawson. Everything seems to be on schedule there. Some fawns were dropped in mid-March. Bucks usually are not out of velvet until around Sept. 15th-Saw scrapes and buck sign last year in Sept. which was earlier than usual. Your area should be within 2 weeks later of mine in regards to rut, etc. Peak of rut is usually about 18th -25th of November.

Jim - you mean Nov 18-25th is peak for Webster County, or for the Dawson area??? Guessing it would be the same for Sasser, since it is so close to Dawson?

Thanks,
