Piedmont applications

Received my Piedmont applications yesterday. Hopefully I can be drawn for the buck only hunt this year. Better yet, hope the ole boy comes by my stand. I have always put in with a group of other guys and it seems to be a lot of fun even if we don't kill anything. The campfire, cooking and hearing all dem stories....

I usually go on one of the e/s hunts every year but have been thinking of trying the buck only hunt. I also go with friends and its a lot of fun as you stated. Some of the tales are real big.

Primitive Weapons Nov 3-5
Either Sex Nov 10-12
Either Sex Nov 17-19

Have been on the buck only hunt the last 2 years with no success. Seen lots of does but bo bucks. Been going to Piedmont for over 20 years and seems to me the best hunt is the 1st either sex hunt. The rut seems to be at or near its peak by the 1st 2 weeks in Nov. The weather is usually still pretty warm in October too. Have never tried the primitve weapons hunt but that may be worth ginving a try.
