Playing with an old .410 shotgun

Got this some time ago and finally got around to testing it first then shouldering it. Shoots great! .410, 37 1/2" barrels. I used 40gr 3fg shutzen, 280gr # 7 1/2 shot at 25 yards and peppered the **** out a paper plate. Later on I will work up some loads.

Man that's neat ! Does it have demacus barrels ? The reason I ask is a gunsmith buddy of mine showed me one a while back and said you couldn't shoot regular smokeless powder in them, the barrel couldn't take the high pressure. I don't know much about those real old ones other than I think their real neat. Good luck with it and let us know what kind of load you work up. It's a nice one.

nope not a damascus barrel. I wouldnt shoot smokeless in this one as its not meant for it. But i certainly have seen damascus barrels that are nitro proofed.
