How about my heaviest to date??? 265lbs on the scale. Big old heavy 8 with a sweet sweet drop! @DSGB I had on the almost famous pullover :bounce: , but didnt find him the evening I shot him. This was the next morning in the deepest creek he could find to fall into.

all of these I suppose were a best for a place or time in life. sentimental best I can’t find right now but it’s a 9pt probably smaller than all these from a nearly 300 lb beast. And has a big sappy story behind it.

Mercy what a beast Jim. I'll bet getting him up out of that creek weren't no prize!

Nice bany - let's hear that soppy story of the big'n.

My biggest was 245 lbs field dressed on the scale. Figure he was also around 300 on the hoof. I was blessed to hunt southern Ohio on a family friend's property for 8 years. Bigger racked bucks were killed on that property but the one I killed was likely the heaviest. It was a hunt I'll never forget.

I miss hunting those hills n hollers...the deer hunting was incredible. For the time being, getting back to the midwest to hunt isn't in the cards so I really enjoy the posts from Jim and others on here who hunt there and share their stories and pics.

One of my most memorable ones , my daughters first one sitting by herself , after I heard the shot I was texting her and my phone started ringing... conversation that I’ll never forget ! Troup co. 39F1764A-C9E4-4C67-BA3D-B65925B42E89.jpeg

Rack wise, my biggest is a 21" wide 9-pointer. Shot him around 3:30 feeding on white oak acorns. Those white oaks were puking acorns that year! And the deer were hammering them. He came out from along the creek edge behind me, up on the white oak hill to feed. Sun was out, and it was a beautiful day. I always stare behind me when hunting, and that's when I saw him standing near the edge of the creek, looking toward those oaks. He stood there in the bushes for a long time, before finally easing towards the oaks to feed. Once he got to that oak to feed, and turned broadside, I shot him. Had to shoot him left handed, while nearly turned all the way around in my climber. Back was even starting to hurt while waiting for a good, clear shot. He was no more than 50 yards from me when I shot him, and he dropped dead right there. He dropped just as you see him in the first picture below.

He was so rank, and obviously ran down from the rut. No telling what he weighed before he went doe crazy.

I've had a nice set of scales for many years, and try to weigh each deer I kill. I like to keep as much info as I can in my journals on the deer I kill. Heaviest deer was this fine 8-pointer. He tipped the scales at 192 lbs. He was a long, big bodied deer. Thankfully, I didn't have to drag him too far, just far enough to be able to get to him with my ATV. Praise Jesus! :bounce:

Man , I like that ATV ! Got the same(99 model)! I gotta fix mine up with some Dawg stickers, that’s awesome!!

Here’s my buck from 2010. 145” shot while slowly walking out around 12 noon Nov 7.
He was trailing a pack of does after a heavy overnight rain.View attachment 1006615
Man, that's a mighty fine deer you've got there. Is that a Buckshot Equalizer climber? I hunt out of a Buckshot Cadillac climber, and love mine. Killed those deer in my pics above, out of it.

And yes, get yourself some Dawg stickers. Those Dawg stickers will not only make your ATV look awesome, but increase the value of it as well. :bounce:

Thanks SB.
It’s a model before the equalizer.
Still got it. Replaced knobs and back straps.
Love hunting out of but was on the ground 200 yards before my truck.
Rather be lucky than good!

Never weighed him but I figure about 215 he was my best ever when I shot him 5 broke up points on one side , broke at base on other ..... but he was heavy ( for perspective I’m 6-8 315 lbs ) 74F8EE96-1FBB-4FF8-9502-E118C9043CA1.jpeg
