PreTrib Rapture?

To me, the passage in Thessalonians is not at all about ‘rapture’ but something far more important!

Concerning 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, a message begins with a premise and ends with a conclusion.

The premise: 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

The conclusion: 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

In between, it’s all about what comforts another but to know that when Jesus comes, your brothers and sisters who have died in Christ will be with Him and you who are left (key word) will be with Christ. Those who you watched die (at the time this was written) and us who have lost our loved ones in Christ throughout history will be with Him together when He returns. So today, be at peace when you lose one whom you love and have lost in Christ, for you will one day see them again and be with the Lord as well.

Let encouragement be the words you hear and do. Let eternal Hope overflow in your hearts! Now isn’t that a message that matters!!!

While the passage is easily accommodated in a variety of eschatological views, (perhaps best fitting amillennial, perhaps not); your framing of the passage suits it best, from any perspective, as the intent is clearly to comfort the hearer. Are not those words of comfort and encouragement found, most clearly stated, if we simply read on?

1 Th. 5
Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come [lit. is coming] just like a thief in the night. ....... 8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Hummerpoo, I agree completely. Just tried to stick within the quoted passage but the extended passage you added just confirms it all the more! Thanks!
