I did not realize they were open. Every time I have been by there, nobody was there.

Nearby Deer Coolers

Hey Randy,

You've probably seen this, but I will post info on GON's list in case you did not. Below are some deer processors for Lamar & Monroe, but since you're in the Griffin area regularly, then I'll also include Spalding & Monroe counties. Since Crawford Cty. is so close to Monroe & also because Gadget uses the Silver Bullet cooler in Knoxville in Crawford Cty. (which he reported in the Bowhunting forum section's "reporting in . . ." thread in Post #90), then I'll include it in this post below, too.

For those who did not know this, the GON magazine has put their GON 2008 Deer Coolers List for each Georgia County on their web site which is usually only published in their September issue each year. Not sure how up to date it is since the this is so dynamic where deer processor lists change each year with some news ones that open & existing ones sometimes close. Therefore, call & verify before you go to them to save yourself a trip. Here's the web link for it below:

Huckaby's is the best I have used. Very clean and with the vacuum seal, the meat lasts longer. Fairly affordable as well.

If you happen to wind up using Thomas Deer Cooler in Bolingbroke, ask him about the deer jerky. He has a guy that can take a whole deer and bring you back some of the best jerky you ever put in your mouth.
