QF and the DNR's quail management Field Day

Looking forward to this. The DNR's top quail biologist, Dallas Ingram, and Quail Forever's Jessica McGuire, PhD, will be there along with Marc Causey, an accomplished forester that works on quail habitat. A tram from Ichauway Plantation will be used to transport attendees around so that they learn first hand about things like controlling hardwoods, supplemental feeding, pasture conversion to quail habitat, burning, and how to blend quail management with agricultural and timber needs.

The Field day turned out great. Lots of friends, old and new, yesterday as biologists from the GA DNR and Quail Forever, along with attendees from Ga, AL, and SC rode around SpringHill discussing quail management. A wide range of topics covered but mostly good times among people that love the outdoors. Few things better than that!
