Question........

What do you put in your chili? Some say a little chocolate, some say day old coffee, some say beer. What's your special ingredient?
We got a little of each in this minus the beer. Didn't wanna waste a whole one. along with some ground up dry ancho chili peppers that H22 buys in the Mexican aisle in the grocery store and grinds it up. I'm letting it simmer. Got home late. Will post pics later.

I use Nic's recipe and add a pack of chorizo. Like he says, longer it simmers the better it is....

That's about the only meat we eat in this house. That ^^^ is ground deer meat we grind ourself no fat added.

Have done it with cubed up chorizo and cubed up steak for something different.

Have never did the beer, coffee, etc thing.

Will use pablano chillies and black beans once in awhile.

Makes a real dark chili, and has a bolder taste.

I've used the coffee trick forever. Only added the chocolate a few times. I forgot I've also heard of putting a little peppermint in it. Never tried that one.
